SOCIETY AND OTHER NEWS

Stephen Jewers Gardens, a new road on the old Barking Hospital site is nearing completion; it has been named after our founder at the request  of the Society

The Queen’s Theatre visit last month to see Oklahoma was a great success. Many thanks to June Johnson for organising this.

Valence House has a new website which now includes a searchable database of the 30,000+ materials stored in both the museum and Local Studies Centre. Visit www.valencehousecollections.co.uk

Will all members please note that they should not open the front doors of Harp House for residents to leave the building; many vulnerable adults live in the house and often wander off.

Our next meeting is on Monday 4th April when Meryl Catty will give a talk To coin a phrase: a light hearted look at the origins of some the expressions in everyday use.
