The Barking and Dagenham Post reports that the Gascoigne estate has been renamed Weavers Quarter.
Valence House has a new website which now includes a searchable database of the 30,000+ materials stored in both the museum and Local Studies Centre. Visit
Our annual general meeting takes place on Monday 9th May. This will be followed by an illustrated talk Barking Hospital and its grounds, by Eric Feasey.
We have three new coach trips planned – Brighton on 15th May, the Essex Country Show on 11th September and Ipswich Christmas Market on 11th December. Book at the monthly meeting or telephone Richard Chapman on 01708 867500.
