MONTHLY NEWSLETTER JUNE 2015

SOCIETY NEWS

Along with June and Alan Johnson, I attended a flower festival at the weekend as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of St. Mary’s Church in Grafton Road, Dagenham. The  church is hoping to build up a portfolio of stories from the past so that future generations are able to share them. If you do have any stories please contact Paul Fleming, St. Mary’s Community Connections Officer at the church or telephone 07852207058  or email heartofbecontree@gmail.com.

If you are a member of the Friends of Valence please can I urge you to attend the AGM at 3pm on Tuesday 9th June at Valence House Visitor Centre as the charity is perilously  close to being wound up.

There are still a few seats left for Bletchley Park on 6th September. We are also taking bookings for Kentwell at Christmas on Sunday  13th December. Please telephone Richard Chapman on 01708 867500 for further information or to book.

We are now going into our summer break and our new season opens on Monday 7th September with a talk by Helen Dafter on Family history in the Royal Mail archive.
