Pearly Queen

Doreen Golding is the Pearly Queen of the Old Kent Road and Bow Bells. Doreen came to talk to the Society on 1st December 2008 and spoke about Pearly Kings and Queens.
Doreen Golding and John Blake, our Chairman, at the meeting on 1st December 2008 at Harp House, Helmore Road, near Upney Station (District Line). The well attended talk was followed by wine and mince pies.
Doreen gave us a fascinating insight into the history of Pearly Kings and Queens and how they are dedicated to raising funds for many splendid charities.
