BARKING AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL SOCIETY
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGHOUSE
BARKING 11th MAY 2009

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE: Mr and Mrs Waters

MINUTES OF THE AGM 12 May 2008 circulated and agreed.

MATTERS ARISING: The question of returning to the central library was again raised - chairman reported that the cost of hiring the meetings room was prohibitive.

CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: circulated and agreed.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Closing balance £704.93. Closing cash balance £60.33. Bill Dale queried the closing balance. Treasurer to itemise this separately on future balance sheets. Doug Waters was thanked for auditing the society's accounts. Report circulated and agreed.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS: The following were elected for the coming year:

CHAIRMAN: John Blake

VICE-CHAIRMAN: Pat Manley

SECRETARY: None

TREASURER: Richard Chapman

PROGRAMMES SECRETARY: John Blake

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY: Nigel Harcombe

PUBLICITY OFFICER: Tom White SOCIAL SECRETARY: Vacant

ELECTION OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS: The following were elected for the coming year: Mary Blake, Hilary Brunt and Joy Lines.

ELECTION OF AUDITOR: Doug Waters

ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Dorothy Lockwood thanked the committee for its hard work.
