Beth Chatto has inspired many people with her gardens and won 10 consecutive gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show. There is a nursery and large tea room on site. Picnic area in the grassed  car park.

Layer Marney, England’s tallest remaining Tudor gatehouse, was built as a family home 500 years ago and today is the home of Nick Charrington of the famous brewing family. If you are feeling energetic climb to  the top of the tower for stunning views of the river Blackwater and surrounding areas.

Cost £21.45 (includes coach and entrance fees)
Coach pick-ups:

9.00 Sainsbury's, Chadwell Heath
9.15 St. Margaret's Church, Barking
 Coach leaves Layer Marney at 5pm.
